Automatiska knivar

Floridas lagstiftare har aldrig infört begränsningar för automatiska knivar. Undantaget för den "vanliga fickkniven" från Floridas dolda vapenförbud går före switchblade-hysterin i mitten till slutet av 1950-talets decennium. Floridas högsta domstol noterade också 1951 års justitieministers yttrande och slog fast att kniven från L.B. en minderårig, var en ”vanlig fickkniv i betydelsen av790.001:

En person som bär ett dolt vapen, eller en person som lagligen kan inneha ett skjutvapen och som bär ett dolt skjutvapen, på eller omkring sin person under evakueringsakten under ett obligatoriskt evakueringsorder som utfärdats under ett undantagstillstånd som förklarats av guvernören i enlighet med kapitel 252 eller deklarerats av en lokal myndighet enligt kapitel 870. Såsom det används i detta underavsnitt avser termen "i evakueringsakt" en omedelbar och brådskande förflyttning av en person bort från evakueringszonen inom 48 timmar efter en obligatorisk evakuering beordras. De 48 timmarna kan förlängas genom en order utfärdad av guvernören.
